Rental services involve the process of renting or letting out things for a particular period of time for a reasonable profit. Several things are rented out for business such as cars, houses, bridal gown, pots, chairs, canopy, drums, plates and cutleries, tanks, generator, cooling vehicle, game truck, music instrument, etc.

Houses are rent out for a short period for people especially in the movie or music industry. Cars are rented for several purposes some of which are wedding event, movie or music purpose, personal renting a day or more, etc. So are bridal gowns and other equipment for different events or purposes.

Rental fees can increase during the cause of delaying in returning the rented equipment. There are many occasions and different events that surfaces during the cause of the week or weekends.

Rental services are hot dog businesses everywhere because there are needs for things that people cannot afford to buy instead they rented it at affordable prices for usage. People prefer to rent things other than buy because they might not have any need for it so buying them is like a wastage of money, so renting them are preferable.

Imagine buying speakers because of naming ceremony or wedding events, but after the events you might not have any use for them again. That is why renting are very important. Almost every household, every organization, every schools even churches rent some things or the other for short period of time. Even movies are rent out for business.

Rental services also have their own risk, like when you buy things for renting purposes and some ended up getting spoilt earlier, loss of some equipment and some might not even return the rented equipment again.

Proper planning, monitoring and care needs to be taken in order to excel in this kind of business.

Good luck to you!
Event planning is a very trending business career everywhere in the world especially in Nigeria. Thousands of people can’t plan their event perfectly or successfully, so this avail the professionalism to come exist. An event planner helps to plan for the success of an event. She helps in food settings and planning, sitting arrangement and even decoration of the event center. Some of them even go along with cake baking business to enhance their productivity.

Nearly every weeks, one event or the other are been done everywhere and if you know your way and how to sell yourself well, people will recommend you for others and you get noticed for event. You are being employed to remove burden of management of the celebrant shoulder by helping out in carrying out some of the things that will make the event a success.

Imagine the catastrophe that will happen if a celebrant planned for 50 people foods, settings, gifts and other things and 70 people ending up surfacing. It will definitely cause a clash. And you as a planner must be conservative when it comes to this kind of arrangement. They cannot ask you to provide food for 100 and you provide the exact amount they ask, no, it will cause confusion, so extra food need to be put in place like providing for 110 food provision.

Proper planning and careful experience is needed in this kind of business. If possible proper training needs to be acquired in order to perform effectively before venturing into this kind of Business.

Crucial calculation and settings needs to be done in most aspect of the event. The food planning, the decoration, drinks and other services needs to be put in place. You don’t have to be the only one doing all of them. You bring in others to help, in the area of cooking, serving and many more. You can just serve as a supervisor making sure all things are being put to place. Anyway, event planning is a very rewarding business and huge success and great recommendation can be acquired from this, if creativity is also put in place.

Wish you success in the line!
Broilers are young chicks of about a day old or more and Layers are matured hen and cock that mate to give birth to young ones. Layers are the producer of eggs we eat, so going into this business can fetch you double money, both from selling the chickens or selling the eggs. Broilers are young ones that are breed to adult. This also can fetch them double money, they can either sell them young to customers or they can grow them properly and sell them.

Broilers are very cheap to buy, in Nigeria, their prices are from the range of N10 – N150, it depends on location. You can’t expect someone leaving in the village or one local area to buy them at the same price as someone in the urban and more civilized area. Cost of living and cost of products are different.

Breeding of broilers are almost the same as breeding of fishes. Ways of breeding are different because some are breeding them for their own consumption while others are breading them for business. People that are breeding them for consumption might not acquire everything they needed to nurture them nicely or they might not be able to afford what they needed to grow, so they only give them what they have as food, like giving them our own daily food, giving them human kind of medicine and things like that.

All those broilers might not survive at the end of the day. For example, I know someone that bought 50 pieces of broilers at the price of N50 each for own consumption. Because of this, the broilers only consume broiler’s food for two weeks which after, they started giving them human being food. And before they could clock a month, 20 chicks died along the way, to the breeder, it nothing, it no big deal. After another two weeks, about four more died. There is probability that not less than 10 chicks or more might also die before they reach three months for them to be consumable. Now, calculate the losses of 34 chickens before you sell them.

How much will you have left? To some it might be gain if at all they decide to sell the remaining 16 for like N2,000 in the market or anywhere, that is like N32,000 minus the cost of production of N2,500 their purchasing prices as broiler plus their cost of feeding of about N8,000 making the profit to be N21,500. At least without them doing it for business, profit still surface, so is not really a bad venture. But for business, this is worst, imagine the profit of N21,500 for three months, that is like N7,200 profit in a month. For your information, this is not your way of doing business; this is just an example of people breeding them for self-consumption.

Breeding of broilers for good business must not take you exactly more than a month to breed them and sell for profitable gain. When breeding broilers, you provide conducive environment for them to move around freely or else, they can fall sick easily and this might transmit faster to the others.

If you are not breeding them outside the open compound or outside their cage, let there be light where they are, because if they are in darkness, they might end up stepping on each other with poor ventilation, and this will cause havoc to their survival. Check on them regularly to notice any sign or symptoms that might be shown by anyone of them for quick treatment. The quicker you attend to them, the better their survival. Once you notice any sign of sluggish attitude or sneezing from any of them, quickly attend to it and don’t postpone it till another day, you might be surprise that the chick won’t survive another day if care is not quickly taken. The earlier the better!

Young chicks are quicker to getting sick because they are not yet strong enough to survive any kind of ill treatment. They haven’t fully developed any kind of immune system that can fight diseases in them.
Giving them their specially provided foods help them to grown faster. In five months they are big enough for selling, while consumable ones that are not well provided for, takes more than seven months to grow to that kind of extent.

There is also risk of losing some of them before the end of the day. So let’s do some calculation. 200 broilers you bought for like N50 each is N10,000 plus cost of feeding of about N50,000 (this is because their food cost almost N2,500 per bag and they can consume like two bags of food in a week) plus other expenses of about N5,000 is all together the sum of N55,000 as their production cost. Let say loss of 50 broilers leaving 150. The cost of selling them can be N2,000 – N4,000. So let’s just calculate it as N2,500 per one which is N375,000. So minus the cost of production which is N65,000. You have the total profit of about N310,000. This really makes a whole lot of sense for business.

These are what we call layers because they are full grown and can lay eggs for you to also sell and make profit or still produce another broiler from them. And as a business farmer, you don’t sell them all at once. This is just an assumption for income calculation. You don’t really need to go and buy broilers again because the ones you breed will lay eggs you will use for breeding another broiler. So that is how the business continues.

This is what is called broiler and layer business. You make money from selling the fully grown chickens or cocks, from selling their eggs, and from selling other broilers that comes from them too. Triple profit zone!

Remember, you need to take proper care of them to be able to make meaningful profit from this business. And do more study on them so as to prosper beyond your imagination.

Wish you best of luck!
Cat fish farming is a process of breeding fishes for business purpose. Cat fish farming is a very profitable business in every country especially in Nigeria. Nearly 70% of Nigerians consume one form of fish or the other. The business is never an outdated business. And also one of the small scale businesses in Nigeria that can be done even at home.

It mostly about rearing of cat fish and selling them for profit making. Cat fish farming are often operated by agriculturist, professional, but nowadays, you don’t need special training to start the business. All you need is to know little or few about the business and you will become successful in no time. Don’t go into fish business without knowing little information about the business, it’s very risky. All you need to know is how they breed, live and survive.

Pond for breeding them, it won’t cost you a lot of money to make a pond, once you have a land space. It is very good if you have an open space of your own for keeping them. If not, get big plastic bowls or other open containers that can contain the amount of fishes you are buying.

A water facility is also required, if you want to rear much of them, you need to be changing their water every day for proper protection.

Food is very important for their survival. They have their own special food. Don’t start putting just bread into their water thinking they will survive on it. Treatment is also needed for their growth.

Quickly remove dead fish among them to avoid any toxic or dangerous substances in the water that can affect them.

Remove any fish that you notice is in danger maybe through the treatment is facing from others. A fish can be a victim, they can scrap each other and the wicker ones may die. So always take note of them.

You must be able to accept the risk and benefit of the business, because you can’t buy fishes and expect all of them to survive at the end of the day for you to end up selling all of them at your expected profit. You must be ready to let go of some fishes and also accept the challenges. But if you are dedicated and determined, you will surely profit with the remaining surviving fishes.

You can buy little cat fishes at the rate of N50 per one. And you ended up buying 100 pieces of them; you breed them for three to five months. You feed them monthly with food of about N6,000, you treat them with like N1,000. The water cost can be like N1,000, if you are buying water. The total you invested on them is N40,000. You might lose about 10 to 20 fishes out of the 100 fishes. You can sell them N1,200 upward. So if you sell them for N1,200 each. N1,200 x 80 pieces = N96,000 minus the total cost you invested N40,000 = N56,000 monthly for 100 pieces of fishes. And definitely as a fish farmer, you will have more than 100 fishes in your pond. Assuming 1,000 fishes and you lose like 100, you sell the remaining 900 for N1,500 = N1,350,000 – investing cost of about N400,000, note that because they are much, you might not spend up to that amount but let just assume. Your profit in five months is 950,000.

That is to me a very good business investment; rarely will you see business in Nigeria that will fetch you that kind of monthly income.

The calculation is just a form of assumption, because as a farmer, you are not expected to sell all the fishes at ones, sell some and leave some to produce younger ones for continuity.

Wish you luck in your endeavor!

According to an eyewitness, one of the trapped victims, identified as Obiora Ikechukwu in his 20s, was among other victims being rushed to Hospital where he later died.

An unknown number of Nigerian soldiers are reportedly missing after an ambush by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno.

The army said it was battling to save the lives of 19 other soldiers injured during the clash on Thursday.

Operatives of the Civilian-JTF, embedded with the military squad, were also badly injured in the deadly encounter in a village called Nguro Gongon.

The spokesman of the Nigeria army, Sani Usman, said the injured soldiers have been moved to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, while a rescue team was arranged to go searching for the missing soldiers.

He did not say how many soldiers were missing.

“Today morning, troops on clearance patrol at Guro Gongon village and environs to rout out remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating therein, destroyed the terrorists’ makeshift camps and recovered quite a number of weapons, equipment and foodstuff in the process,” Mr. Usman, a colonel and acting director of army public relations, said.

“The recovered items include 1 Gun truck mounted with an Anti-Aircraft Gun, a MOWAG Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade Tube, 1 Light Machine Gun, 3 AK-47 rifles and motorcycles.

“However, the gallant soldiers basking on the recorded success, returning to their defensive locations, ran into an ambush by a group of Boko Haram terrorists who came to reinforce their fleeing comrades. The troops fought back gallantly killing several of the insurgents.

“Sadly however, 19 soldiers and 3 civilian JTF members were wounded in action while a few others were missing in action.

“The wounded have been evacuated and are responding to treatment, while a search and rescue party comprising of Special Forces personnel has since been dispatched to establish contact with the missing in action troops, some of whom, as at the time of filing this report, have started returning to their defensive location.

“It is pertinent to state that, no stone would be left unturned until every person involved in the operation has been accounted for,” he said.
